Overall great escape with the Guadalupe River in the backyard and a memorable two-family trip. Backyard river was beautiful and fun, but the water flow was a bit too slow so we sometimes went elsewhere within a 20-min radius to float in faster currents. Company: Sky Run was great to work with as they communicate frequently and make the process easy. We would rent from them again. I suppose my only tiny suggestion is that it would have been nice to hear more about COVID-19 cleaning procedures/standards. House: Good - The backyard is fantastic! The main areas and bedrooms were laid out well and clean. Beds were comfy and bathrooms were clean. Kitchen area was good with lots of seating. The side house was also nice for families to isolate. Needs Improvement - The house is older, so it lacks a lot of modern updates and decor you would see in other air bnb-like options. The ice maker was really noisy but we just turned it off and were fine. There were thousands of ants in the driveway, but they went away the next day. Atmosphere: Neighborhood is nice and quiet, but there is another rental home next door and there was a very noisy family with their outdoor speakers on full blast all day in the backyard one of the days, which took away from the afternoon napping/serene setting for a day. It is the river, so you can expect some large party groups. The road behind the river in the backyard is a very pretty and scenic drive, but you will hear a lot of roasters, motorcycles, and enthusiasts cruising by. We didn't really mind, but it is there. River: Beautiful view and very relaxing float days with no other "floaters" around. The river access is easy, although it is a more stagnant area with very little flow rate, so we alternated days there and at other parts of the river. There weren't any people since most public tubing is shut down. Small suggestion: I wish the ramp went a little further in the river or there was something to hold on to, as we had elderly people who made it to the edge but couldn't get in. Location: We brought our own food to minimize outside contact, but there was a pizza and donut place nearby. Easy twenty minute drives to town, Canyon lake, etc. Comal Park and New Braunfels and Gruene were very nice. All in all, we Would go there again and float.

We had so much fun! Went tubing on the Horseshoe and little Ponderosa. Enjoyed the spacious deck as well. The lightning bugs were everywhere, what a treat!

This is our second visit to Bohemian Hill and it was even better than before. The secondary apartment had upgraded floors and a new AC unit. It was a great space for lounging after being outside all day and having a third shower is awesome. The main house has all of the basics to make the stay a breeze. We cooked all of our meals either in the kitchen or on the grill outside. The outdoor area remains unbeatable with direct river access and beautiful water. We will definitely be visiting again.

Great weekend getaway!

What a wonderful house to enjoy with friends and family. We had a great time visiting on the beautiful deck, playing cornhole and watching the wildlife (raccoons, deer and skunk). We were also able to spend some time enjoying the river and tubing. We will definitely be back!

We love to come to bohemian hill every July. It’s my most favorite vacation every year. Our family has made so many wonderful memories through the years. The deck is fabulous for early morning coffee and for evening meal time. The kitchen is perfect for cooking. Fully stocked with good quality appliances and cook wear. It just can’t get any better

Amazing amazing house!

Family of 10 stayed here. We loved this house so much. It was perfect for all of us. The deck was the best part, sitting outside with the string lights gave the perfect setting for conversations and poker games :) drinking coffee in the mornings on the lower deck was an amazing way to start our days. The kitchen was stocked well. We left behind our waffle maker but we're happy to contribute it to future guests and make their stay as enjoyable as ours.

We had a great time in this house! There were 11 of us, including 4 young kids. We really enjoyed the freezing cold water in the heat of the day. We bought tubes at HEB in New Braunfels and filled them up ourselves. Then we spent our time floating/swimming downstream to a little dam where there's a rocky shelf only a couple inches underwater. We sat on rocks in the river while the kids built more dams and towers of rocks and took turns floating over the small rapids here. The river was pretty shallow in this area, but there are deep spots with lots of mud, so walk carefully! The house was a great size for us. We loved the big kitchen and cooked meals every night. We went out to the Gristmill in Gruene for a night out. The smaller guest house was a nice spot for the night owls. We ate lunch on the porch every day. My kids saw lightning bugs for the first time here! There's lots of fish in the river too. Overall a really great time and a fun escape out into nature!

Our family had a great time staying here with some friends, everyone was comfortable and we were able to have some nice family meals together. The kitchen had everything you needed to cook with and all 8 of us could sit at the table too. Nice place to bbq as well. The deck was amazing and had a rope swing with a log for our girls to enjoy. Great place for a big family, loved being able to let the kids have their own space in the guest house. We had trouble getting the tv to work but the maintenance person came out and fixed it for us promptly. Great communication all around. Will definitely stay here again.

This was truly a home away from home. The river in this area is beautiful and deep- great for swimming and floating. The patios are perfect for outdoor cooking and just spending a relaxing day together. We had a big group and it was plenty of space for all of us. We look forward to visiting again!

We loved everything about this property. Great location, beautiful house, great for families and plenty of room. We enjoyed swimming in the river in the backyard and taking in the view from the beautiful deck. The WiFi is spotty and sometimes you can't get a good signal. Our cell phones couldn't get a signal in the house but there is a house phone that is available. We will definitely be back!

We booked this house for a 12 person weekend getaway. The pictures do not do it justice. There is plenty of room and the location is incredible. The water was is in a relatively calm part of the river and everything is safe for kids to run and play. The house is fully stocked with everything you would find at your house (less the consumables). We would recommend this house to larger groups or for family getaways with children.

River getaway

This property was perfect for our family of 8. One couple stayed in the small cottage and 2 other couples stayed in the house. The view of the river was fantastic and our 6 year old grandson went fishing every chance he got. The swing was a bit hit for our granddaughter. We also played corn hole and tubed the river. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, and utensils. We cooked in every night and enjoyed our time together. Overall it was a great time at Bohemian Hill!

Great location on the river

We were pleased with the location of this house on the river. The property was well suited for 12 people, and we had plenty of space for sleeping and eating. We were able to use the charcoal grill for cooking which was also nice. The other positive was that it was close to Whitewater Amphitheater for going to a concert, and we had easy access to Little Ponderosa Outfitters for tubes. Lastly, parking for 4 cars was grey for our group all traveling separately upon arrival.

3 families visited Bohemian Hill for 2 nights, and we enjoyed every minute of it. This property was well stocked and has a great outdoor space. The fridge/freeze had some issues with opening and closing the drawers, but otherwise no major complaints. Communication with rental service was outstanding!

Great back patio & deck!!

This gem was perfect for our couples weekend! There are three decks on three levels, one being right out over the river, plenty of chairs and tables, and three grills. The rooms are spacious, and there's a large island and table in kitchen. The bunkhouse is huge and has an additional TV and kitchen table. All in all, perfect river house for a group!

We booked Bohemian Hill for a Thanksgiving holiday family reunion and had an amazing experience! We had our six grandchildren with us and found that they loved the experience (despite our initial safety concerns with the river). The house sits right on the river and has a beautiful view and plenty of outdoor deck and patio space with plenty of furniture. The kitchen was large enough for multiple cooks and well stocked with dishes and utensils. The sleeping arrangements worked out great for our three families and the beds were very comfortable. We encourage all groups looking for a Hill Country or river retreat to consider Bohemian Hill. We had a blast!

Bohemian Hill is Outstanding

This was the perfect property for our family to stay in on the Guadalupe. The house was nice (2 bedroom) and with the additional "bunkhouse" this property was well suited for our family of 9. The outstanding feature of this property is the deck and the river access. We were able to sit on the patio at the water's edge and enjoy the cold Guadalupe. Even with the river "way down", we still enjoyed the water in the 3' - 4' depth range right in front of the house. It was well worth the price and we plan on returning next year.

Great place for families!

The home was perfect for us. Loved the deck, and the deeper water out front. The home was great for the kids and the deck was nice to enjoy. Only thing we would add is putting child chain door locks on the doors to the house. Our 3 year old twins loved the deck so much they unlocked the doors and went out on the deck by themselves at 5 am before anyone was awake Thankfully they are 3 going on 13 and came back in like nothing happened. Otherwise, a perfect stay! We will be back.

The staff was super helpful from the start, always easy to reach and communicate with. Our check in was flawless and the house was better than we could have imagined! Will definitely stay here again!

River fun

This place is amazing. Two large decks both with amazing river views. Beautiful scenery. Well stocked kitchen with all the cooking utensils, pots, pans, bowls, etc. the house is well taken care of with quick response from the rental agency.

Wonderful getaway!

We stayed five nights here with a large group (9 adults/tweens and several toddlers) We were cozy but comfortable. We fixed all our meals here and played on the two decks and in the water all day. It's a little distance from the camping areas so it was quieter and more private than some other areas. Would recommend for families!

We spent a wonderful weekend in a comfortable and well located house! The accommodations were excellent and the view unmatched. We loved sitting out on the back porch and watching the river go by. I will come again!

Coolest place ever :)

We've stayed as a family all over New Braunfels, Canyon Lake, and especially River Road :). It's just important for us to get away as a family and reconnect and slow down. I think we found our new favorite place. We sat on the deck every night and played cards and ate all our meals out there. Did I mention there are two decks! One right by the house and the other right on the water. They did this place right. I didn't get in the water but my husband and kids did. They had a blast. (I was busy trying to get some sun!)The beds were comfy and the kitchen was well furnished. We did run up to Salt Lick and enjoyed eating in Gruene too! Can't wait to come back. :)
