Situated in the heart of the Wimberley Valley Shepherd's Lodge is an ideal place for your family getaway. Shepherd's Lodge is a charming, rustic, and thoroughly Hill Country home.  Designed for a large family, the layout and spacious indoor and outdoor living areas offer you the best of togetherness in the common areas and privacy elsewhere.  The open kitchen/dining/and living space offers an inviting area to whip up a gourmet meal over lively conversation with friends or family.  Enjoy a movie or ball game on the smart HDTV.  Need a break?  Head off to one of the four bedrooms, the second living area, the ping pong barn, or the hammock to take a nap.

Step outside at Shepherd's Lodge and you'll remember why you wanted to get away to the Hill Country in the first place - relaxation and wide open spaces!  Outside you'll find over 400 square feet of covered porches and a 500 square foot shaded deck to enjoy all day long and into those glorious star-studded Hill Country Nights!  Relax out on the deck or in the bar and grill pavilion after an afternoon spent playing in our swimming hole at the Blanco River just across the street.   Enjoy the new pool complete with tanning shelf for the loungers and little ones, splash about in the pool or relax in the generous hot tub. Challenge a friend to a friendly game of ping pong while you sip on a beverage - now that's Hill Country Living!  "The stars at night are big and bright, Deep in the Heart of Texas" and you can experience it first hand as you dine with friends and family out on the deck at Shepherd's Lodge.

The spacious master suite, equipped with a SmartTV, is located on the second floor with its own private deck overlooking the outdoor gathering areas below.  The bunk room and adjoining queen bedroom are found upstairs on the opposite side of the house from the master.  The downstairs queen bedroom is tucked in a quiet corner just off a full bath.  The cozy second living area houses a TV/DVD combo and daybed.

Only three miles to downtown Wimberley Shepherd's Lodge is a wonderful, centrally-located launching pad to enjoy all the Wimberley Valley has to offer from playing and swimming at Blue Hole Regional Park, shopping the historic Square and Wimberley Market Days, catching a movie at the legendary Corral Outdoor Movie Theatre, enjoying Hill Country cuisine and wines at local restaurants and vineyards, or browsing one of the fine local art galleries.

Bringing the kids?  Let 'em run wild!  Here you'll find plenty of space, over two acres, for a football or soccer game or that game of chase or catch you've been promising the kids for months. We know a few kiddos who've learned to ride bikes at Shepherd's Lodge, so bring your two-wheeler and start those lessons!  Have smaller tykes?  Shepherd's Lodge was built with kids in mind - several swing, a camouflaged tree fort, and porches perfect for Big Wheel riding can all be part of the experience at Shepherd's Lodge.  The upstairs bunk room is a perfect place for the kids to bring toys and play.

Other Amenities:
Blue Hole, one of Texas' finest swimming holes, is just down the road. Shepherd’s Lodge is fabulous for the exercise enthusiast. Act like a local and enjoy walking, jogging, or cycling Flite Acres Road, Little Arkansas Road, or Little Ranches (it gets hilly fast!). Blue Hole Park (2 miles) also offers 4+ miles of easy trails for pedestrians and cyclists in addition to a playground and a basketball and sand volleyball court.

Other Considerations:
The home is located in the heart of one of the finest acreage communities in Wimberley.  We love our neighbors and want to be extremely considerate of their peace and property!  Noise curfew is in effect from 9pm-8am. 
You must be 25 years or older to rent this property. Maximum occupancy at all times for this home is 12 guests. We manage several nearby rental properties and therefore often have staff in the area. Please come and have a good time, but remember that behavior that is disrespectful or disruptive to surrounding neighbors will result in you forfeiting the remainder of your stay.
There is a limit of 4 vehicles unless otherwise approved.
