Wonderful Wimberley Getaway

Coolview Cabin was a perfect choice for viewing the eclipse! The large front porch and comfortable outdoor seating made for a perfect theatre for the show. Too bad Mother Nature didn't cooperate, with the cloud cover, but what we were able to experience (temperature drop, dark, and unusual animal behavior) ended up making it well worth the trip! I loved the cabin and the spectacular Hill Country view! Fantastic!

Relaxing & wonderful

If you had a 5 star the cabin certainly deserved it! We spent so much time on the porch& deck. We watched deer, birds & butterflies all times of the day & night. House was spotless, had everything we needed except a wine opener. We bought one & left it for others! The master bedroom’s bed was great. We slept so well. Bathroom was great. The 2nd bathroom shower was a little small but not a problem. Just can not say enough about what a neat place this is. We were close to downtown & also HEB. We had a hard time with the grill so I cooked the steaks inside-not a problem. Would definitely stay again. Really easy communication with the Vacay staff.

Great little cabin!

Views spectacular. A/c was as fine for the summer time in the Texas heat. Plenary of kitchen / bedroom space for us. Television and Wifi was good. Grill worked well. Need to fix the coffee pot as it doesn't brew but that's a very little thing. Close to Wimberly for Market Days. We would definitely recommend for a nice get away and would definitely go again.

Lovely place

Great views and really cute cabin. The only sounds we heard was from the Foxes at night. Has a nice fireplace and all the amenities we needed. Really steep hill up to the parking so if it is raining it can be a bit tricky getting up. Really good location close to the little downtown. Front door needs adjustment, as you have to lift up the door knob so the electric lock can open. Also had to call them because the front gate has some issues when it?s cold but the answered immediately and told us what to do but was a bit hard to get to open. Overall enjoyed ourselves and will most likely be back.

Exactly as advertised!

Coolview cabin does in fact have a cool view. It was nice to wake up in the morning and hear the birds chirping, see deer, and even a few coyotes. You are only 8 minutes away from Wimberly and Blue Hole State Park, but you feel quite in the countryside in the cabin. There were quite an abundance of bugs so make sure to bring insect repellent particularly for morning or late afternoon outings. The floor could have been cleaner upon our arrival (and truthfully we might have been hyper cognizant of the dirt and bugs on the floor due to the fact that we have a toddler who is interested in all things), but fortunately there was a broom handy. The kitchen counters have a bit of a grade so watch out if you put any eggs on the counter as they might start to roll.

Lovely and charming cabin that had everything we wanted for the weekend stay! Huge patio outside with bbq grill and gazebo. We loved our stay and highly recommend. Clean and good beds. Kitchen was well equipped. Short drive to downtown Wimberly. Charming stores and good food. We had breakfast at Sugar Chack bakery both days. Loved our stay!

Great Hill Country Get-Away

This place is wonderful. It's old but very charming. It sits on a few acres and is so private. We loved the view. The wildlife was so enjoyable. We enjoyed the deer, watched a fox playing and a black rock squirrel was an extra-special treat. We'd never heard of or seen one before. Wimberley is a great little town. If you are there on the first Sat. of the month, go to Market Day. Hundreds of vendors and great finds. You can get some great bargains.

Relaxing Retreat

This house was a perfect retreat for our group (two couples). It was exactly as listed...an easy distance from downtown Wimberley, the Blue Hole, and other area attractions, and yet providing a private, quiet retreat away from the hustle and bustle. Spring Getaway

Lovely little cabin in Hill Country. This was a repeat visit for us. We had great weather so we spent a lot of time outside on the really large deck. The three of us (2 adults and a child) enjoyed the swing and eating outside. We grilled a lot during our stay. Ample dishware and cookware for 2-4 people and some basic spices (salt, pepper, sugar). There is also space to store pantry items. The only thing to really be aware of is that you are the dishwasher as there's not one on the property, but the kitchen has good space for prep and serving. There's also a washer and dryer on the property. Rooms were a comfortable size for us and the cabin has great views of the valley and other hills. We saw deer this visit, but we did missing seeing Ransom, the horse that used to roam the property. The cabin is relatively close to town and also the Blanco River (the latter you'll pass to/from cabin). We're regulars to Wimberley so we recommend: Art on 12 Gallery and Precious Ladies, Gentleman, & Babies for gifts, and if heading into nearby Gruene, stop by The Barn for Pottery.

Beautiful View

The location of the house is great. It's a quick trip into town and to wineries. The view did not disappoint. We ate all of our meals on the deck. The house is small, but comfortable and having two bathrooms was helpful. It would be nice to have a king bed in both bedrooms. Be aware that your code for the door will not work until 4:00 so no showing up early. And if you need to use the bathroom after a road trip, you'll need to wait until 4:00.

The only complaint was there was urine in the master restroom toilet when we got there. Minor but gross. The rest of the stay was wonderful. The deck Space was great. Grill may need to be replaced it took forever to cook our veggies and chicken. Would stay again!

This cabin is a nice escape from the city with simple amenities but the bathroom was loaded with spiders and the doors are a bit old, sticky, and finicky. Its an old house and it makes expected noises haha but it fits right in. And the neighborhood itself is beautiful to walk through. Especially on the other side of the small bridge. Cozy, great views

The property was beautiful with amazing hill country views, and the cabin was clean and cozy. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen had all of the tools we needed. We walked about a mile from the property, down to a spot where the road crosses the river and it was lovely. It was close to downtown Wimberly as well. When we arrived, our phone signals were gone, and there was an issue with the WiFi, but I reset the router and it came back on (very slow). I would stay at this property again.

This cabin is just right for a trip to relax and unwind. It is comfortable and clean. The view is exactly as seen in pictures. It is a secluded stay within a few minutes drive to a fun small downtown. Cool view is the perfect name! We had a great time!

Such a great location! Only about a 5 min drive into town. The cabin itself is charming with many nice personal touches, its spotlessly clean, the deck is amazing, and we found the surrounding area to be beautiful and peaceful. Would come back in a heartbeat!

We would definitely stay here again, the view is gorgeous, the deck is perfect, the beds are comfortable, the house is very clean, the fireplace works great. There was a minor problem twice where the entrance gate keypad wouldnt operate during/after a rain , so I hopped the fence to use the keypad for the exit keypad. No a deal-breaker, and the representative promised to have it repaired. Again we certainly enjoyed our stay.

4 of us girls rented this cabin for 2 nights and it was perfect. The views are absolutely beautiful. I spoke with the property manager a couple of times and she was very responsive and wanted to make sure our stay was the best it could be. We have no complaints about the property!

We loved the cabin. It has a well-stocked kitchen, however ice trays in the freezer would be a nice addition. Beds were comfortable and everything was clean. It has a wonderful view - we loved sitting in the swing on the porch in the mornings enjoying the view. We really enjoyed our stay.

The location of this property is amazing! We were an 8 minute drive to downtown Wimberly and 6 minutes to the blue hole. You can park your car about 1 min. down the road and walk to the Blanco river. We bought a net and our daughter caught minnows in the river and built towers with river rocks. The house is very well stocked and we had everything we needed! The patio was great for hanging out on the cool evenings. There are bugs, but that is to be expected in a rustic cabin that is secluded out in the country. There was. hummingbird nest on the tree on the deck which was so cool to see! Lots of deer too! The only negative thing I could say is the master bedroom wall AC unit was very loud when it kicked on and off, but we informed the manager so hopefully that will be taken care of. We scooted the bed out from the wall a few inches and that helped a lot. This cabin was just perfect for our family and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We will definitely be back!

Cabin was adorable and nicely decorated. It was a great location, private, peaceful and great views! Of course, being in the country there are country issues also, like we had a mouse- but we told the managers and hopefully they are taking care of it. We had lots of deer on the property. Overall, great stay and I would stay there again.

Our sisters trip was made even more special at this amazing property! The views and amazing porch were a perfect spot for our card games and visiting. The location is perfect for accessing Wimberleys shops and eating establishments. The beds were comfortable and the home was well supplied. The home is rustic but comfortable. We loved it!

The positives definitely out way the small negatives. The deck is amazing! The views are amazing. This little cabin is very private and has nice parking. It was great to have the table and grill outside. We enjoyed the porch swing. The beds were comfortable and plenty of pots, pans, and dishes. One review indicated there were no cookie sheets. They were there, in the bottom stove drawer. We were able to easily open the front door, but it took multiple times to lock the door. Other than the shower and the coffee pot needing a little more attention in the cleaning department, we would have given the cottage 5 stars.

I love cool view cabin. If you from that enormous patio was probably my favorite thing. But I also loved the rustic, No Granite and stainless steel vintage look inside. Its hard to find cabins like this any longer so its great that the owners have kept this one perfectly rustic.The extra large bedrooms each with their own bath it was also unexpected.

This lovely cabin, tucked away in a beautiful but remote part of Texas.Property management very responsive and attentive.Beautiful views and lots of wildlife. Peaceful, clean and quiet neighborhood. Good location if you are going to stay in and have quests but not so good if you have to drive into San Marcos. It was a long dark drive with lots of dear on the road. Yikes! If I just wanted a great hideaway close to the small but lovely town of Wimberley I'd stay again. Washer and dryer onsite but needs to be replaced. Other than that I loved it! Note the cleaning fee is non-refundable and kind of hidden. I could not get a clear response from the VRBO when questioned about the charges and went back and forth a bit. Make sure you go over your charges prior to any agreement. Oh I almost forgot to mention...its very difficult to find even with GPS, especially in the dark of night.

Peaceful with beautiful views

We loved the property. It had everything we needed. The internet was out, but that wasn't a "need". Wonderful views, great deck, and the interior had great rustic charm. We had a little issue with the shower in the 2nd bedroom, and the little window unit had a little trouble keeping up with the terrible heat. None of the issues were major, so we still considered it a 5-star visit.

We enjoyed the beautiful views, deer , Fox and birds. While the river can be a short walk away, the water is extremely low and there is limited access and parking. We enjoyed the beautiful sunrise and all of the stars at night from the deck area . Would definitely return!

My wife and I stayed at the cabin over the weekend. It was very peaceful and relaxing. The 10 acres makes you feel entirely secluded. The view was amazing and the deck was so nice for taking in the view, enjoying the breeze, and having an evening meal. The cabin is nicely appointed and comfortable. We had everything we needed. The cabin has all the charm of the Texas Hill Country within it. We really enjoyed our stay. The property is nice to walk. We took a stroll around the 10 acres as we talked. There are gorgeous mature trees and we even saw deer. No real negatives. The internet is a tad slow, so streaming a movie was slightly challenging, but we were able to do it. We will be back again!!

In the heart of Hill Country. Anytime other than winter, you'll breathe clean Texas air and live on the deck. Deck is an A+ feature with grill and covered area. Stars galore. Deer everywhere. House is small, but comfy. We didn't mind the laundry being in the doll-house behind the cabin. Queen bedroom needs a dresser - living out of suitcases was a bit frustrating. Wi-Fi is slow, but we didn't come here to be fully connected. We had a mouse problem that didn't get resolved during our stay because of two issues: first, I used a SkyRun web email link that didn't work; second (my fault) I didn't phone the SkyRun office or use the email posted at the front door. Duh, my bad. When finally aware of problem, SkyRun lit a fire under the exterminator. Also, realize that the property is in the country. Location between San Antonio and Austin was perfect for us. Day trips to Luckenbach and Fredericksburg and access to great food were fun. Try the pies and casseroles in Kyle. Surprised at quality of Texas wines, too.

what a wonderful spot!- we spent so much time on the deck when we were there- after shopping in Wimberly and taking in some of the other natural spots, we came back to the house and just relaxed on the deck- kitchen was well equipped, couch was comfortable and the bedrooms had comfortable beds- enjoyed looking at the wildlife at night since there was a huge full moon every night- will use again!

We enjoyed a 3 night stay at Coolview Cabin. The wonderful, expansive deck expanded our room and we took advantage of the porch swing and the outdoor eating area. The view from the deck is wonderful!We truly enjoyed the terrific accommodations. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked. The sofas and chairs were just right to watch the television. There were two bathrooms that made getting ready in the morning easy.There was a small problem with the microwave but the owner quickly brought a new one and everything was fine. Wayne was such a nice man, very helpful.We would definitely stay at this cabin again if we come to Wimberley. It was peaceful and relaxing, clean and organized.

I am so so happy I booked this property for my birthday weekend!! Me and my sister felt so relaxed at this beautiful place. The views are fantastic and I loved the layout of it. You can tell that the owners took the time to make this place an escape. We visited Pioneer Town, Cowboy Museum, and Emily Rose gardens. We will definitely come back and go to the outdoor theater just down the road and to Blue Hole which was close and reportedly beautiful. And to shop!! Oh my the town definitely warrants a girls weekend without my sons LOL Thanks for sharing this place!!!

My husband and I spent a long weekend in Wimberley with my parents and this was the most perfect spot for the four of us! The views from the deck are completely gorgeous and the cabin itself was was nice and cozy. I think it's safe to say we would all highly recommend and love to come back! I only have one complaint - the listing says it's close to swimming, which was a big plus for us. The only thing is that it's a pretty far walk (way more than the 10 min stated in the listing. Especially if you're carrying towels, sunblock, drinks, etc) and you can't really drive because it's all private property with no parking/no trespassing signs everywhere. This was a definite bummer for us because we planned on being able to just walk right down to the river and relax which is not doable at all. However, not something that would keep us from coming back or lowering my rating.. Just think it should be more accurately depicted in the listing!

The cabin is perfectly situated at the top of a gravel drive offering superb views of the hills - a huge porch provided nice chance to take it all in - would be great if there were lounge chairs!! Love, love the view! The house is a little small (especially the second bedroom and bathroom) but the deck, view and property make it worth the visit. It was so peaceful sitting out on the deck in the morning drinking coffee. Great visit to the hill country. We had a wonderful time relaxing in this nicely decorated cabin with amazing views. Took in the early morning sunrise every day with a cup of coffee. Enjoyed the serenity and nature that is unique to the Texas Hill Country region. Watched the birds come play in the trees right next to the covered sitting area on the porch surrounded by beautifully potted plants and flowers. Cabin was well decorated, clean and inviting. We really look forward to staying again soon.

We absolutely loved this home and the land surrounding it. We come to Wimberley each year, but who knew you could have acres and acres to yourself but only be a few minutes away from being in downtown. Made our annual stop at the Leaning Pear, and I promise we only drank a little too much wine. Management was very friendly and made the booking and check-in process so easy. Thanks!

Planning Our Return Trip Already!

Perfect getaway stay! So peaceful with a beautiful view, and it only took us a few minutes to drive into downtown Wimberley for meals and shopping. Loved having such a large property all to ourselves. We hope to return again soon when the weather cools off and enjoy more of the Hill Country.

What a place! What a view! What a weekend!

Goodness is this place a treasure. We went as two couples and loved this quaint little cabin. I know it says 10 acres but it feels like much more than that. We spent every moment possible on the deck that overlooks miles of the valley. Sunrise and sunsets are the best. There's also a gas grill right next to the table on the deck. We also walked down to the river (6 minute walk - we're slow) and loved splashing around there. The Blanco River is still one of my favorite places.
This house will be our spot from here on out to meet up. Thanks to Aaron for helping us get situated and answer any question we had. Can't wait to come back.

View was awesome and accommodations were very relaxing and comfortable. Loved the thought that went into designing the cabin and all the special touches. Loved the birds and the beautiful flowers. As a business owner we know details can make a difference. Tub drained really slow. Showered in ankle to knee high deep water. Cord on iron looks like a fire hazard, gate entrance code failed twice. Called in once and hopped the fence second time. We would stay again so those things aren't deal breakers, otherwise the property is very well maintained. Thanks again for a wonderful stay in Wimberley.
