The house was very clean and well equipped with everything we could need. The location couldn’t have been better. We could swim off the dock or drive 5 minutes to the public entrance and float down the comal. And the pool/hot tub were amazing after a day on the river. Would definitely come back!

The size of the house was perfect for 8 ladies and was on a great spot of the River. The pool and hot tub didn’t look private because another house backed up to it (although we never saw anyone there). Everything looked clean and the views in the back were beautiful.

What fun! Edgewater Escape was a great house for my 50th bday weekend - lots of space, great kitchen, comfy beds - our tween/teen kiddos enjoyed the upstairs as their own - we loved the hot tub and grill - the weather was not great - classic Texas winter - wet and cold then warm muggy and wet! But we had a ball! Thank you, Vacay Hill Country!

Great property!

Great house and fantastic property! We loved spending time on the dock and balconies and would have spent more time out there if the weather had allowed. It comfortably housed my family of 4, my brother’s family of 4 and our parents. The kitchen was in working order and we easily prepared a simple Thanksgiving meal. One important thing to note is the spiral staircase. You can see it in the photos and we all assumed it was a secondary staircase. It’s the only indoor staircase and three of our party were not able to go upstairs. There is a wide, straight staircase outside, but it was raining most of our stay and it was slippery, making it just as treacherous as the spiral stair. We still all loves the house!

River Fun Family Vacay

What a great time we had ! The house was very nice, and the location was very convenient to everything around. It has lots of great decks to enjoy the beautiful view of the peaceful Guadalupe river. The deck down by the river is wonderful and a great place to swim and watch the kids swing off the tree rope. The swimming pool and hot tub area was also nice Lots of places to sit, relax, and visit. The house was well stocked with everything we needed. The house was nice and cool except for one of the bedrooms upstairs. All in all everyone had a wonderful time. My youngest grandson requested that we get this same house next year. I highly recommend it.

Mini Vacation

My husband and I brought our 10 year old twin boys, 14 year old daughter and a friend as well as our 17 year old son and a friend for 3 nights. We would of stayed longer but that is all that was open. Great location which is close to everyone and never saw a person other than a few kayaking down the river. Very quiet and peaceful. Will come back once we get some more free time

Truly a Great Escape

We stayed at Edgewater Escape for a family getaway; 6 adults 4 children age 8 and under. Facility was perfect…. Plenty of space and space for privacy, comfortable bedrooms, large living space, well equipped and well furnished. Swimming pool and easy river access. Though pretty much in the middle of New Braunfels, felt like we were all by ourselves. The easy access to New Braunfels recreation, restaurants, and other amenities was great. Must also say that Vacay Hill Country was awesome to work with!! I made an error in original booking and they happily helped me correct. Also very responsive with a couple of questions.

Best spot on the river

The Edgewater Escape was the perfect spot for our group. This is our third summer in a row floating the river. The house was spacious with plenty of room for everyone to have their own private space. Tons of patios and balcony's. This part of the river isn't super busy so it was nice and peaceful to hang out in the water in our tubes. We plan on staying here again next summer. All 10 of us agreed it's been the best place so far!

Bachelorette Weekend on the Guadalupe River

The Edgewater Escape is a gorgeous setting overlooking the Guadalupe River! There are many balconies and large windows allowing guests to soak in the relaxation. The private pool and hot tub are the finishing touches for a great getaway. We had a lovely girls? trip, thank you!

Amazing Home

My friends and I rented this property for the weekend and we were blown away! The owners have thought of literally everything you could possibly need during your stay. The hole has so much character. Everything is labeled (lights, remotes ect) as far as what it controls or does which is super helpful. The hot tub was amazing and very clean. The location was great as you are situated right next to Schlitterbahn and downtown New Braunfels almost. We had such a great time and even got to meet the owners.

Great Place for a River Getaway

Property, property owners and Vrbo were great to work with. The property manager could have and should have done a better job cleaning. If you're looking for a good river getaway with friends, this is your place.

River serenity

We had such a wonderful time!! The house was the perfect layout for our family and kids. There was something for everyone to do. We rented golf carts and were so close to Schlitterbahn, food & ice cream shop. Will definitely stay here again. We had such a great time!! Highly recommend!

We enjoyed this trip so much. The owners stayed in the house in front. Was very nice & helpful on our new adventures. Easy access to everything to enjoy. The house was beautiful, clean & we had everything we needed. As far as cooking supplies. We will be seeing this location again for the kids to enjoy the pool.

New Braunfels family Vacation

They need better pots and pans to cook in like for eggs and the River is non Swimmable too much debris but we enjoy the pool area and the barbecue pit overall I would give a 8 from a 10

After this guest's departure, we did notice that there was breakfast food left in the pans for us to clean, but we recommend that if guests aren't using cooking spray to avoid sticking, then to simply turn down the temperature a bit and that always helps. So glad you enjoyed the outdoors with a good barbecue!

Nice River House

We enjoyed this conveniently located river house in the heart of New Braunfels. The house is on a nice quiet stretch of the Guadalupe, just above where the Comal River joins the Guadalupe. The house has a newly constructed dock thats fun to fish off (bring fishing gear). We brought kayaks. The stairs to the dock are steep and one of my kayaks is quite heavy, so we put in at Cypress Bend Park, about a ten minute paddle to the house. There is a small dam you will need to pull your boat over. The easiest route here is to the right of the river. We took the boats out by paddling to the Comal and upstream for about 100 yards (not difficult) to the stairs that ascend to the intersection of Lincoln and Union Streets. We had no trouble loading the kayaks here, but it was mid-April and there wasnt much river traffic. I dont know how easy this would be in the summer. The pool an hot tub are nice, and the house is quite comfortable. We had an opportunity to meet the owners, who own the house next door, and they were delightful. San Antonio is close, and we enjoyed visiting the Witte Natural Science Museum there with the grandkids. I highly recommend this place!

Highly recommend this airbnb! We got great recommendations for places to go nearby but honestly had everything we needed to have a great time at the airbnb. Direct access to the water with a dock to hang out during the day, pool, hot tub and grill at night. It was an absolute treat for my first get together after a long year of quarantine. Perfect getaway for a group

This place was awesome, it literally has everything you need, we kayaked in backyard, enjoyed the Jacuzzi every night and even jumped in pool a few times to cool from hot tub. The location is close to restaurants and bars and downtown shopping. We had amazing bloody Mary's at the Blue Whale pub, great burgers at Tin Top , amazing food at the River House in Gruene and had a blast at the Watering Hole bar. We will for sure be coming back with the familes. Our kids would love it, just down the block from Schlitterbaun. Perfect place with a peaceful morning watching and hearing the birds while drinking coffee on the back patio watching the river flow by.

This place is a must stay. The house is immaculate and there are so many great touches. The owners are the sweetest and were so accommodating. They noticed that the roads were icy so let us know we could take our time leaving or stay another night without charge to keep us safe. 10/10 would recommend staying here.

Last min weekend getaway

Booked at the last minute for a weekend getaway with 2 couples. Pleased to say how nice the property is in the middle of Winter. I expect it to be beautiful in the Spring and Summer as it is amongst giant Spanish Oaks, Pecan and Cypress trees. Weather was cooperative so we sat on the back deck and later the dock enjoying the river. Quiet and peaceful. House had everything we needed, and beds were comfortable. Large hot tub a bonus. A hidden gem in the New Braunfels city limits, we were lucky to find it and will return in the Spring.

Close to downtown New Braunfels yet secluded and private this home is in a great location. Property has multiple indoor and outdoor gathering areas and the open floor plan provided space for 10 adults to spread out. Guadalupe River running behind the home is gorgeous and great place to start the day drinking coffee and listening to water and wildlife. Very relaxing weekend.

Perfect Vacation Home

We (four adults and a baby) stayed at this property for a Christmas getaway. The property is beautifully maintained with amazing views and scenery to boot. The house has all the accomodations for a cozy stay. Great for a large group with or without kids, plenty of room to relax and spread out. The top floor can be its own apartment with rooms, bathroom, living area and a kitchenette.Too cold to use the pool, but some in our party enjoyed the hot tub. Looking forward to coming back in the summer to relax in.
