This is a beautiful property, and as nine adults, we appreciated the king beds in all the rooms. Everyone had plenty of space to lounge, relax, and sleep! The pool is the perfect mix of shady and sunny. We hope to stay longer next time (the overwhelming consensus of everyone in the group is that we'd like to come back again, which speaks highly for this property!).

The home was good for entertaining. Plenty of space for my 3 adult children and spouses and us. It was sweet that the home was decorated for Christmas as this weekend trip was our family Christmas to each other instead of presents. Time together. The hot tub, fire pit, hammock, pool lounge chairs all were enjoyed. Overall: Everything went smoothly. This choice of home was great. We would stay again.

This is a gorgeous property located off the beaten path but still central to the assorted family wedding events we came to attend in Austin, San Marcos, Wimberly, and Kyle. The space is just beautiful inside with designer level decorations and comfortable furnishings and a very well-appointed kitchen. The outdoor pool, hot tub, and firepit were perfect for relaxing and we enjoyed having time both is Austin for the bigger attractions and exploring the little shops and restaurants in Wimberley as well. The space is well set up for multiple adult couples, with separate bathrooms sitting areas and even a smaller apartment. (I'm not sure where younger children might stay/sleep, although the pool would be perfect for families and there were some children's games, books, and toys onsite. The one awkward thing is the lack of a door between the master bedroom and master bath, although the actual toilet is more private behind a half wall; turning on a bathroom light at night meant flooding the bedroom with light, too. This was minor overall with the beautiful rooms and spaces more than making up for it. Everything was clean when we arrived and the house was well supplied with basics like paper towels, hand soap for bathrooms, some general spices and paper products. We would be delighted to book again if we visit the area!

Backyard was amazing. We LOVED the pool. Pool vacuum never turned on even after a call to guest services. Many many bugs in the house could’ve used a dusting of cobwebs and a spraying for bugs. No blinds or curtains in the bathroom of the smaller guest house. Other than what was mentioned house was great.

Had such a great time visiting this lovely property. We came to town for our daughter's graduation from Texas State. This property did not disappoint. It was just as nice as the pictures and very well stocked with supplies. My only worry was when couple of her college friends stopped by and I was uptight about going over the 8 people max..wish I didn't have to worry about that. Overall it was worth every penny

Rock 'n' Wood was a perfect getaway for 4 couples. The spaciius house was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, glasses, cookware, spices, etc. The outdoor spacious was beautiful. I only wish it was warm enough to use the swimming pool.

The house was perfect for my family including children. The pool area was so relaxing after our young group finally tired of swimming, lol. The fire pit was perfect for a large group creating smores. Inside the beds were comfy, the kitchen equipped for all our needs, and overall the house was wonderful. Just a note that there are 2 full bathrooms with 1 half bath. For us, it was no big deal but perhaps for three adult couples that might be. Would return without a question!

Fantastic house with a beautiful outside area . Large bedrooms and nice bathrooms. Only 5 minutes to Wimberly and we drove to Fredericksburg for a day trip. The outlet mall is only 15 minutes away and Greene is 30 minutes away. Perfect place for our annual girls trip. Highly recommend.

This was such a great getaway from the busy city. We loved that it was secluded but not too far from Wimberly which was a short 10 min drive. The house had more than enough room for our family and was clean and tidy when we arrived. We had everything we needed and would definitely stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay at this house in Wimberley for my father's birthday. The pool was incredible - we spent most of our days out in the water, enjoyed poolside lunch, and then grilled our dinners to enjoy in the evenings. A few things for which I'm giving 4 stars vs 5: 1) the prior comments about bugs are fair - there are lots of dead bugs along the base boards that really needed a thorough vacuuming, 2) on the morning of our departure we did one last pool dip, however were quickly driven out by smoke and ash when someone not too far away on the property did a brush burn that made it uncomfortable to be outside, and 3) the A/C in the house was struggling - it was never below 78 in the house. Overall I would absolutely come back to enjoy more of that pool. It was a delight.

The homeowner has invested quite a lot of effort into the lovely landscaping, which makes the poolside lunches feel even more remote. Because it is the Texas hill country, bugs are sadly a byproduct. We hope that guests understand that no live bugs means very good pest control, and while we can do a clean sweep in the morning, they'll be more by afternoon. We don't have any control over the neighbors, but we can control the AC and whether that's cooling adequately. We encourage guests to report any issues during their stay, as we avail ourselves 24/7, because we want guests to be comfortable and happy during their time with us. We'd love to have you back. The pool will be waiting!

We've enjoyed our previous SkyRun rentals, but this one was the best yet. Rock 'N Wood was perfect for celebrating my 80th birthday with family & friends. The pool, outdoor seating, & gas grill, plus the place's spacious interior made cooking, dining, and visiting great. Locked in due to COVID restrictions? No problem. Was the place a perfect 5 Star rental? No, but you won't go wrong with this solid 4 Star selection.

We had an AMAZING time! The property and the grounds were gorgeous! The pool was sparkling! Our only issue was the bugs. Tons of dead bugs where everywhere. They lined the walls throughout the house. It's clear pest control is being used to reduce the creepy crawlers but they definitely needed to be more thoroughly vacuumed. And to be clear, the house was totally clean. There's just an abundance of bugs and nature in central Texas!

This property was perfect for our family visit. The size was amazing. We did have a few things go wrong, ie kitchen cupboard was broken, and kitchen ceiling leaked, but the property management team got right on it. Our only drawback, was it could have been a bit cleaner. My husband spent some time cleaning the pool, hot tub required chemicals, interior was not cleaned prior to our visit (salt and other items on the dining table, windows inside/out were a bit dirty). But, we still enjoyed our stay.

This place is so beautiful, especially the outdoor spaces. We had a mother daughter stay (5 of us) and had a BLAST in the gorgeous pool and hot tub. The reps at SkyRun were always available to help with questions I had. The living spaces are so comfortable with beautiful views out of every window. That being said, please be careful where you step as we had to kill some creepy crawlies in the livingroom and upstairs bathroom. The kitchen wasn't stocked with much so be sure to take oil, sugar, etc if you plan to cook or make coffee. The blankets needed a wash and so did the glasses and plates. Overall it was still a very fun weekend.

This house and the grounds are beautiful and in a really nice location for a hill country getaway. The rooms are comfy, the kitchen is wonderful to cook in and well-stocked, the outdoor space is beautiful, and we took really nice walks in the neighborhood. Be sure to double-check the rules before booking, as we were surprised with how strict everything felt (no music outdoors at any time of day at any volume when youre booking a house with a pool and hot tub, for example). Another thing to keep in mind is, for such an expensive rental categorized as a private home, we didnt have much privacy. The owner was constantly present, as were landscaping crews. Beautiful home and a really nice long weekend w friends and family, but these are things I would have wanted to know when comparing rental options.

We don't ask that guests not play music at all, but to merely be respectful of the volume, because we're required to respond to noise complaints. This is a private home with thoughtful landscaping, and we're very pleased our guests agree. Unfortunately, some of the beautiful greenery didn't survive the big freeze, so some plants needed replacement. We appreciated your agreement to allow us to do that gardening during your visit when we reached out to you prior to your stay to discuss it. We're very sorry that landscapers planting for a day of your 4-day stay was inconvenient, but that's also why we notify guests if we need to be onsite. We want our valued guests to have an in-person, visual experience true to our advertisement, so we thank you for your cooperation. It was much appreciated by us and will be by many guests to come.

We loved the house, the yard, the pool, the kitchen (very well equipped), the beds were confortable, the house was clean and nice. We just have two comments. The house does nor have 4 bedrooms properly. There are two bedrooms and a studio with a Murphy bed. There are not doors in the master bedroom to separate bathroom, shower, the toilet, so everything is opened and connected with no privacy at all.

Sister weekend was a bust due to hurricane Beta traveling in rain all day and not able to use the nice pool. We also had a medical emergency but found a nice ER close by. Our family kept our reservation, despite COVID-19, and we are so glad we did. The house was so fresh and clean. We made sure to bring all our own groceries and didn’t need a single other thing for our entire stay. The kitchen is stocked with every conceivable utensil, pot, pan, pitcher, cocktail shaker, and corkscrew. There is even an ice machine! I admit to being a little bummed at not availing ourselves of all the lovely activities in the area, but our relaxing and quiet stay at Rock ‘n’ Wood really hit the spot for our family. A very minor hiccup with the pool was dealt with in less than an hour. I simply can’t say enough about how much we love this house. Thanks again!

The location and house are nice. Its situated in a gated community on perhaps the dustiest, rockiest road on the planet. I also was not clear that their is another residence attached to this property which was rented at the same time. This location has fully separate and isolated amenities but it was a surprise to see a another family when we arrived. The house is nice and matches the pictures, though the pictures make it look larger, especially the backyard. Otherwise, it is close to Wimberley, everything functioned and the living area was spacious and a great place for the family to hang out.

We had three couples attending a friends childs wedding in Wimberley. This property provided each couple with their own room and privacy, then a beautiful place to gather in the great room. The kitchen had everything we needed and then some. Close to town, but still out in the country. Beautiful property.

We had a family event in the area, so seven of us coming in from out state rented this home. Lovely place, beautiful setting, home nicely organized and furnished. Highly recommended!

We as a group of 8 women usually come to the Hill Country about every 3 years and call it wine camp. We loved the location of the house, very secluded but yet close to everything. The lay out of the house was perfect for us, if we needed some down time or privacy the rooms were quiet and away from each other. It was very beautiful and we absolutely loved the Pool!! We used it often on our trip. Also every evening we played games around the big dining room table. We will definitely return. Thanks!

Great family vacation

We enjoyed staying at this beautiful property for several days. Close to downtown Wimberly and not too far from Schlitterbahn. The pool/ outdoor areas were relaxing and fun. The kitchen was well stocked with a nice size refrigerator/freezer. Plenty of space to get alone if you need to. We will certainly use Sky Run again for any future rentals. Everyone that I talked with was extremely helpful. Rock n Wood is a great property just like the pictures show.

The house was perfect! It was spacious for our 3 kids and the pool area was very nice. We were not expecting how large the mother-in-law suite was! We would book again.

We stayed here for a girls' trip. There were 8 of us and we had plenty of space. It was nice to be able to sit around the dinner table all together and we really enjoyed relaxing around the pool.

We came here for a relaxing weekend and that's what we got! Two families with teenagers. The kids got to run around outside and swim in the pool while the parents relaxed on the patio. We spend an afternoon in town in Wimberley and ate by the river. Clean and nice. We'll be back!

The house was great - just like the pictures. Nice big kitchen with everything you could need - and a gas grill outside. We used both! Four couples shared the house - that has 3.5 baths, so we did have to 'share' a shower. Beautiful property - we used the hot tub and the fire pit in October - a little cool for the pool. Beds were comfy and house was clean! We'd go back to this house again.

First of all, Wimberly is a charming location with so many great shops and restaurants. The house provides a great oasis/base to explore the Texas Hill Country. Loved the layout, and the outdoor space is amazing. It had a great pool, hot tub, conversation areas, and outdoor dining. A perfect getaway spot with a lovely kitchen. The balcony off the master suite is so peaceful in the morning. Lots of special spots to enjoy in this beautiful house.

We just returned from staying at Rock 'N' Wood for 5 nights and the description and pictures cited on-line were just as advertised if not even better. The pool was wonderful, and the home and especially the separate living space were absolutely ideal and appreciated. Every single thing from kitchen appliances to general living needs were provided; all the living areas were comfortable, well appointed and maintained. Overall the layout of the home provided enough opportunity to seek quiet areas as well as foster group gatherings. Being able to be near Wimberley within minutes was perfect as well as only needing relatively short drives to area attractions and restaurants. There were 4 children 10 years old and younger, and the pool was of course a definite hit with the children as well as us adults. We especially enjoyed the use of the large number of pool 'floats' provided. Host provided skilled support to us and I highly recommend this home for a pleasant and restful retreat.

Amazing Time in Texas!!

The home was awesome! I have not been to that part of Texas before and was really amazed by the scenery, river, nightlife and the people. The home was comfortable and charming. Its on a very large lot and the front porch is perfect for sitting and enjoying some drinks at the end of the day. The home is exactly what I would have expected for this area from its rustic charm, original hardwood floors, and amazing outdoor space. The beds were comfortable and the house was clean and well maintained. It had everything we needed including zippy WiFi. SkyRun is always awesome to work with and I really appreciate the care that they put into their homes. We will be back!

If you want a remote and relaxing get away close to the destinations in Wimberly, this is the place to be. Love the kitchen and pool area and so much room for family and friends. We loved it and hope to visit again soon!

Rock N Wood gave us everything to make a family reunion the perfect stay from start to end. We enjoyed cooking in the immaculate and well-equipped kitchen . Everyone found their niche, from pool and hot tub, to patio, fire pit and hammock. The house is spacious with many lovely details to comfort. We can highly recommend this vacation property.

Beautiful hill country home in a peaceful, private setting. Enjoyed relaxing in the pool and hot tub. The well equipped kitchen was perfect for preparing meals in. Its close to the quaint shops in downtown Wimberley, as well local wineries. A truly relaxing oasis when you want to leave the city for a quick getaway!!

My family still talks about rock n wood!! We traveled to the hill country from New Orleans, seeking fresh air, relaxation, and family time. Rock n wood delivered! We relaxed indoor by the fire at night, lounged by the pool during the day while lots of deer walked by, went on ?adventures? in the surrounding woods with our kiddos, and cooked fab meals in the gourmet kitchen. We didn?t leave the property the entire time! Thanks for the great family memories?we?ll be back!!

We had the best time at Rock N Wood. This is perfect for couples, large groups and families with kids. We enjoyed the comfortable beds, cooking family dinners, quiet morning walks, the hot tub and the short drive to Wimberley. We had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway! My family and I had such a wonderful time at Rock N Wood! The pool is great for kids, and we spent so much time outside relaxing. The interior of Rock N Wood is quite stunning, and we were instantly comfortable and felt at home. We cooked many great meals in the incredible gourmet kitchen.We will be back!!!!!!!
