We used both houses for our mother/ son getaway. Plenty of space and beds. The outside patios are great but there are some steep stairs to bottom deck and river. Would probably not be great for small children or elderly. Well stocked kitchen and towels.

The house and property are exactly as pictured. Beautiful scenic property right on the Guadalupe River, excellent location. Gruene is about 20 minutes away and New Braunfels 30 minutes. Uber made it easy to safely get everyone back and forth. We had a party of 13 guys and comfortably slept everyone between the house and the small cottage just outside. There is a tube rental business just up the road about 200 yards, and we were all able to walk and get shuttled to float the river. Absolutely beautiful and we all had a blast. River was a bit low and slow but we rarely had to walk during the float and the river was just high enough to go take a dip right there at the property (stairs lead all the way down to the water). House comes fully stocked with basic amenities, kitchen supply, dishware, silverware, trash bags, toilet paper, bath towels, cable TV, charcoal grill outside. Would highly recommend this property for any large groups looking for a Guadalupe river escape!

I have booked this property twice now, and I can't wait to book it again! On both visits, I found the property well maintained inside and out! If you are looking for a great property, with riverside views and easy access to the water, and a multitude of tubing companies within a mile then this is the property you want to book. The property provides plenty of room for you and your guests, with some yummy places to eat a short drive away. The owner and property manager are committed to improving the property and your say any way they can. For example, I noticed a couple of changes the second visit compared to the first. The horseshoe setup was repainted and is now sooo much easier to see. The living space was also more decorated. I like I said I have visited this property twice now and plan on visiting again soon, I strongly recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a great time.

Amazing property and helpful, pro management company. This home is comfortable and inviting, and the backyard is incredible... waterfront and huge pecan and cypress trees overhead. We lounged and played horseshoes on the lawn, and definitely took advantage of the nice outdoor barbecue area. 5 star stay all the way around.

Not sure where to start....came with another couple with all our kids and it was the best place we've ever been to. The kids played outside constantly under the trees (not sure what kind they were). The water was clear and calm and so relaxing. We hardly were in the house. Don't get me wrong, the house is amazing too but the backyard is the coolest. There's even a little small "house" in the back where my two older kids stayed. It has a bathroom and gives them a sense of independence. We also ate some great BBQ, went to Gruene Hall, Whitewater Amphitheater, and rented a boat for a couple days. I want the owners to sell me their place :). My wife and my friend's wife loved it too. My kids keep asking when we're going back.

I just needed a place for me, the kids, and hubby to have some fun together as a family. Well....we found the place. This place was awesome. The entire back part of the property is shaded and there's an easy way to get in and out of the river. My husband tried fly fishing (but didn't catch anything). Next time we'll try the fishing guys out of Gruene. There's a bunk room at the front of the house that is perfect for all the kids. The living room and kitchen were good (not as nice as mine at home but it did fine). AC worked great but the main feature of this place was the back porch/ back yard. There's a grill and plenty of decks to sit, play, sleep or eat :). THe management company was great helping get us settled and answering questions about the fun things to do in the area. We hated leaving.

Great place to get a lot of people together near the river

A large group of us stayed here for a river tubing trip and had a great time. Between the house, cottage, and large property in the back there is plenty of space to accommodate everyone. The kitchen was large and fully equipped, and the outdoor gazebo area is well set up and a great place to hang out. The property is well maintained and includes access to the river, and is walking distance from a tubing outfitter. The owner was professional and the house was stocked with all the necessities. We had a great time and would recommend this location!

The management company made our stay easy and so enjoyable! We couldn't have asked for a better place to spend the weekend or a better river view! The location was also perfectly placed right across the street from the tubing outfitters. SkyRun did a great job hosting and always responded to my texts within minutes. Good place on the water. Huge area to hang out in the back or inside the house. New kitchen, good grill outside. close to all the outfitters. We went to mountain breeze short 10 min drive. The bathroom situation could be improved as the toilets took a while to refill with water which led to some people seeing poop as it was basically 16 people and 2 toilets in the main house. Overall would stay again if invited, but I'd be open to trying other places in the area out.

Excellent house to stay out. More than enough room for a big group and such an excellent spot on the river. Perfect spot where you can enjoy a cup of coffee overlooking the river and direct access to walk down and get in or to tube down to. Highly recommend.

We had a blast here! Very nice house right on the water and walking distance to Little Ponderosa Tubing. The guest house with the tall windows was very unique and cool! Big tall trees everywhere and overall a very nice property and great place for big groups!

Great Fall Break Getaway

We had a large group with varying ages-adults, kids and toddlers. We all enjoyed our time at this location! Beautiful view of the river and a quiet surrounding neighborhood. About 25 minutes to town and 23 minutes to Gruene. The back deck could stand a good dusting, as there were a lot of cobwebs around the pavilion and the lights didn't seem to work.

Communication with house management was excellent. My family enjoyed our stay at the Star of Texas. Water levels, even after much rainfall was perfect for our kids to play in. My husband and I were able to relax and watch the kiddos splash around. Patio was great at anytime of day. We will be back!

This house was absolutely amazing for our big group (13). Plenty of space for everyone to relax and enjoy our vacation. Excellent location. Tube rental right down the street (could actually walk), excellent location on the river and easy river access on property. This was so nice and a major plus with our group because of all the kiddos. Plenty of outdoor space to enjoy the beautiful scenery as well. Property well taken care of and we will definitely be back!

Great place for a group

We stayed here with 3 different families and it's a great setup for a big group like that. House and cottage were both clean. Beds aren't the most comfy but that seems to be the case at most rental places. There's a bit of deferred maintenance that could be done (some light bulbs missing or not working, covered deck had a ton of old dusty spiderwebs, etc) but really nothing that made any difference to us on our vacation. Overall wed definitely stay again. We had our own tubes so we went upstream a bit and paid one of the outfitters a bit to park a couple vehicles and then just floated to the house, about a 3 hour float, it was perfect, did that twice and was a lot of fun.

Great communication from the host and the location was wonderful! We loved having river access! There are lots of sleeping space and gathering areas! Our group thoroughly enjoyed our weekend. There were a few things that could be improved on and we let the host know about them. We would definitely stay at SkyRun's properties again and look forward to doing so in the near future!
